The Power of Praise

“Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

Isaiah 35:3-4

God is our refuge and strength,The Lord’s heart for compassion is present among us. He wants to encourage those today dealing with an increased sense of anxiety and stress, those with a feeling of dread which may even be resulting through physical symptoms in your body (restlessness in the night, inability to sleep, feelings of borderline panic, etc). God’s heart is for you; what you are experiencing is not your inheritance or portion as a child of the King! The Lord loves you more than the world He created or the stars He placed in the galaxy. He is fighting on your behalf; He is your refuge and strength, an ever present help in times of need.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Psalm 46:1-11

Continue to praise Him, even in the midst of your difficulty, regardless of how you feel. Even if it seems like everything is falling apart, as you praise Him chains will break! The door to the prison cell that the enemy is trying to keep you in will fling wide open, just as with Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25-26).

The Lord takes great delight in you; He inhabits the praise of His people. “Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord … wait upon the Lord.” His strength, joy, and peace will arise in you as you open your mouth and declare His goodness with praise! The enemy is a toothless lion, and he cannot harm you. You are protected by the living God!

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Psalm 91

Anxiety will break off of you as you press into Him, and joy will be abundant! For weeping may last for the night, but joy – His true, everlasting joy – will come in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

  1. Angie, Thank you for this timely word! I’ve been battling again with anxiety and I know it’s an attack from the enemy. It started out one step forward and two steps back and then it was two steps forward and one step back. I’m trusting that breakthrough is right around the corner! Just going forward and being free indeed in every area! Blessings friend! Love, Bonnie
