Your Pain Will Soon Make Way for Great Joy

O people in Zion … you will weep no longer. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher. Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it.” | Isaiah 30:19-21

Though many are in the midst of trials and hard-pressing circumstances, God is encouraging us not to lose heart in this season. Do not throw away your confidence, for help is on the way! Truly, the Lord hears your cries, and as it is written in Isaiah, “He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you” (Isaiah 30:19). Do not believe the lie of the enemy that would seek for you to believe that God has abandoned you, for just the opposite is true. God is with you, and He is your present help during times of trouble.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He raised His voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold (Psalm 46:1-7)

In the midst of the shaking, it is vital that we stay anchored in the truth: the Lord is good, and all of His ways are right and just. Yes, we have a good Father. “He is [our] rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him” (Psalm 92:15b).

Our God knows just how much heat and wind you can withstand, and He is training your hands to war in this season (Psalm 144:1). The trials you are facing are becoming your teachers, equipping you for battle. You are being fortified and made stronger, even in the midst of the current adversity that you’re feeling. Be encouraged! This season is shifting, and the storms will come to a still.

The Son is getting ready to burst through the clouds, and you are going to be refreshed and revived by His presence. He is breathing new life into weary hearts. Keep pressing into Jesus! Deep encounters of refreshing and visitation are upon you in this coming season. As you refuse to be moved by what you see in the natural and choose to go deeper with the Lord, you will experience the very floodgates of His presence open up to you, and joy will be your portion!

In Matthew, it is written, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied” (Matthew 5:6). The Lord is honoring hunger in this hour, and a broken and contrite heart He will not despise (Psalm 51:17).

Know that the Lord, Himself, is fighting for you. He will rejoice over you with singing, and He will quiet you with His love (Zephaniah 3:17). Continue to trust the heart of your heavenly Father, even when you do not understand. He is working everything for your good; He is strengthening and expanding you. You are being forged in the fire, but you are coming out. You will be refined like pure gold. Take heart, for your finest hour is upon you!

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1).

  1. Thank you for this word from the Lord. God keeps speaking to me through you. I am amazed, yet so relieved in this place I am in. I am encouraged. I am being forged in the fire, for a fact. It is especially good to read that “I am coming out!” It has been a very long experience. Sounds as if it is going to end well. Prophetic words in this are lodging in my heart. Thank you for this.

  2. Love this! “The Lord is honoring hunger in this hour…” I pray that He continues to fill my heart, and anyone else who reads this blog, with a hunger that only He can satisfy! Thank you for this timely word.
