A Call to Deeper Intimacy: He Is with You in the Quiet Place

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength …” | Isaiah 30:15

Many may be feeling somewhat restless and discouraged, as they have found themselves in a quiet and still season. However, I believe that the Lord’s heart of encouragement would say to you, “Do not fear the stillness, for I am here.” There is an invitation from the Lord to go deeper in your walk with Him during this time. Press into Him as you wait in the secret place. The Lord is wooing His Bride to a place of intimacy as they sit still before Him. Be encouraged, for there are greater measures of His glory and presence to be encountered as you linger with the Bridegroom.

Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls.
All your waves and your billows have swept over me (Psalm 42:7).

God wants to encourage you today, saying, “Do not fear the silence, Beloved. I have not left you. I am here, as it is written in My Word, ‘You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart’ (Jeremiah 29:13).”

Do not confuse your quiet season as a time of discipline; the opposite is true! Truly the Lord is working mightily beneath the surface and behind the scenes of your life. He is recalibrating many and changing the landscaping of your life. The clouds are clearing, and I see a beautiful new scenery emerging. New life is blooming from what had seemingly been a desert place. You will be found coming up our of the wilderness, leaning heavily on your Beloved (Song of Songs 8:5).

The Lord is jealous for His Bride, and He is relentless in His pursuit of her. In His goodness, He is stirring a holy hunger within you, using this quiet season to draw you nearer to Him. Greater revelation will be released upon you, as you spend time with the Lover of your soul. The Lord desires to share with you the secrets of His heart, for He calls you friend.

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15).

God is leading you beside the still waters. Truly He is with you, and He will never leave your side.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake (Psalm 23:2).

  1. This seemed to be a word to me “Do not confuse your quiet season as a time of discipline; the opposite is true! Truly the Lord is working mightily beneath the surface and behind the scenes of your life. ” Thank you for your faithfulness to His call Angie!
