“But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.” 1 Peter 4:13 NIV
I sense the Lord’s heart of encouragement to those who feel as though they are experiencing a dark night of the soul. The Lord wants you to know that He is near to you and He is with you even in the midst of your suffering.
“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18 NLT
He is drawing you and calling you to lean into Him even more in this season and to allow your roots to go down deep. As you do, you will find rest and nourishment for your soul. He is strengthening and sustaining you in this season. Allow Him to hold you close.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
Be assured that He has neither left you nor forsaken you. Turly, He is the friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). Even in the midst of pain and distress, cling to him and you will find refuge and strength under the shelter of His wings (Psalm 91:1-4). His word over you and the promises that He has spoken over you have not changed. Surely, they will come to pass!
“This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.” Habakkuk 2:3 NLT
The Lord is encouraging you today that though weeping may endure for a night, His joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). He knows the plans and promises that He has for you and they are to give you a hope and a future; only to prosper you and not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11). Be strong and of good courage! He is with you!
