“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29 NIV
As we enter into the month of June, I sense the Lord highlighting rest, renewal, and rejuvenation for many! This will be a time to cease from your striving and to simply abide in Him.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
I sense Him saying, “Expect the unexpected! Expect Me to move in ways that you have not previously known! Raise your expectation levels! I am good! I am greater than you can think or imagine!”
“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8 NIV
“Watch and expect me to do what you could never bring about in your own strength. I am the God of restoration and the God of hope. I make all things new! Catch the wind of my Spirit and lean in close to me in this season. I have many surprises and good things in store for my children. Allow me to bring you rest, renewal, and rejuvenation as you cease from your striving and lean into me. Watch as I restore your soul and lead you beside still waters.”
“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” Psalm 23:1-3 NIV

In the Kingdom of God, rest means more than a place of peace. Rest also carries the context of being in a place of position and authority. When we rest, we do not strive. Striving puts us in a position of “reaching for the unreachable” or “accomplishing what cannot be accomplished in time.” Striving puts the task in authority over the taskmaster. It will demand of us, require of us, and lord over us! Our position in Christ is compromised and diminished when we strive.
Rest restores us to our proper position as Sons and Daughters of the Living God! Rest restores our perspective. It is at rest that, by faith, we will see the hand of God move in creative and miraculous ways to advance and achieve those things that once hindered our advancement and achievements. It is truly a Kingdom principle to Rest in the Lord!
Does your circumstance look bleak and grim? Do you feel anxious and nervous? Is cortisol pumping through your body? Are you losing your healing sleep? Lets agree together to take up our kingdom position, established at the cross through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and Rest in Him! Blessings!
