“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.” Psalm 19:1 NLT

Recently, My husband and I had the amazing experience of going and viewing the solar eclipse in its totality on April 8th, 2024. This was a much anticipated event with many people traveling for hours all across America to see this great phenomenon. The early morning traffic was heavy at times but eventually everyone found their nesting place where the great shadow would eventually pass over them. We also found our cozy little parking space and positioned ourselves to see the great spectacle, which was due to arrive within the hour. With much anticipation, the moment of totality was finally about to arrive!

As the skies darkened, the birds started to sing their evening songs along with the insects. Then it all went dark! The moment had arrived and the view was stunning! The planets and stars were in clear view and the glowing ring of light surrounding the moon was a sight like no other! For nearly 3 minutes, we were beholding the true craftsmanship of our Creator!

As fast as it arrived, the darkness that surrounded us had broken into light! The birds were singing and the crowds were cheering! In that moment, it was as though all creation was crying out (Romans 8:19-27). With great celebration and satisfaction, we joyfully packed up our belongings and enjoyed a late lunch with family at a nearby restaurant. I will truly cherish these memories for a lifetime!

Some time has passed as I have pondered the events of that great day. As the Lord often does, He uses natural events to speak and to show me how the spiritual coincides with the natural realm.

I sense the Lord’s heart of encouragement for many of us that have truly been in dark places even while others seem to be in the light. Many have felt like they are on a continual path around the same proverbial mountain with no visible sign of breakthrough.

The Lord says, “I am going to turn your darkness into light! I will do it in what will seem to be a period of moments!”

“God, all at once you turned on a floodlight for me! You are the revelation-light in my darkness, and in your brightness I can see the path ahead.” Psalm 18:28 TPT

“I am up to something, on your behalf, all the time! When it would appear that the darkness is about to overtake you, the Light will break forth! Precious ones, though you have been battle weary, don’t drop your sword! You are being held and strengthened! I am the God of creation who holds the sun, moon, and stars in their places! Truly, I hold your life in my hands. Your prayers and petitions have not been in vain! I have many unexpected surprises in the making! Lift your eyes! Your breakthrough is very near! You are seen, you are loved, and you are valued beyond measure! My eyes are upon you and my ears are inclined to your cries.”
