The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the affliction of My people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their oppressors, and I am aware of their sufferings. I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached Me, and I have seen how severely the Egyptians are oppressing them. Therefore, go! I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring My people, the Israelites out of Egypt.” But Moses asked God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” “I will surely be with you,” God said, “and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, all of you will worship God on this mountain.” Then Moses asked God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ What should I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:7-14 NIV

THE DESTINY OF MOSES
The story of Moses is a fascinating read! He was born a Hebrew but was adopted and raised as an Egyptian (Exodus 2:1-10). We see a veiled glimpse that he was born to be the deliverer of the Hebrew people when he struck down and killed an Egyptian for beating and abusing a fellow Hebrew slave (Exodus 2:11). The desire to deliver his people from the bondage of slavery was there all along, yet he made a poor choice in the moment to try to bring that destiny to pass in his life. Moses thought no one was looking, so he struck down the Egyptian taskmaster for beating a fellow Hebrew and hid his body in the sand. Later, Moses discovers that the word is spreading about his actions, even to the point where the Pharaoh now desires to kill him! Moses panics and flees to the wilderness and settles in the land of Midian (Exodus 2:13-15).
NOT DENIED, JUST DELAYED
It is assumed to say that a large measure of time had passed from the time Moses killed the Egyptian (Exodus 2:11) to the time when both he and Aaron stood before the Pharoah (Exodus 7:7). Moses was eighty years old when the first petition was made to let the Israelite people go from their bondages to slavery. In his own strength, trying to become the destiny inside of him resulted in the death of an Egyptian and several decades of time spent in the wilderness. With that said, God is still good and He remembers His promises. When Moses reaches the latter part of his life, God speaks to Moses by telling him that the appointed time is NOW! Amidst the long awaited time, the destiny of Moses to be the deliverer of the Hebrew people was now starting to take shape in his life.
GOD IS BIGGER THAN POOR CHOICES!
Have you made a poor choice lately that resulted in a setback of time and energy? God is bigger! Did you miss an opportunity because of fear to step out? God is bigger! Have you felt like you have been in the wilderness for decades because of one decision so many years ago? GOD IS BIGGER!
THE WILDERNESS
The wilderness refines us! The wilderness will refocus us! The wilderness brings us to a complete dependence on our Good Shepherd! It burns off the wood, hay, and stubble so that only the GOLD will remain! The wilderness is long and hard, but it produces the finest oil, and it prepares you to handle the destiny set before you and inside of you!
I WILL GO BEFORE YOU!
“The LORD your God is going ahead of you. He will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt.” Deuteronomy 1:30 NLT
I hear the Lord saying today, “Nothing is impossible for Me! You may say, “I am stuck in this impossible circumstance”. I say to you, “I am seated high above what you label as impossible!” Do not fear, for I have heard your prayers of travail and I have seen your many tears! I will fight this battle! You need only to be still!”
“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14 BSB
IT IS MY TURN NOW!
“I have seen the many injustices that have sought to rise against you and take you out. No More! I am dealing with the enemy at your gate who has attempted to intimidate you and block you from your promises and the new territory that I have for you! I am arising now as a mighty man of war and I will contend with that which has sought to contend with you!”
“The LORD will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” Isaiah 42:13 NIV
“I am turning the tide in your favor and I am shifting the very circumstance blocking your breakthrough!I am giving you the plunder behind this giant and you will get extra for your trouble! Do not cower back in defeat! This is the time to boldly step forward in faith with Me to possess the land! Truly, I am bringing you victory in the area where the enemy has whispered his lies of defeat! Arise and possess the land! Arise, oh mighty warrior! I declare to you that I will restore double!”, says the Lord of Hosts.
“Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.” Zechariah 9:12 NIV
Amen!
Hallelujah!
