The Lord will surely comfort Zion
and will look with compassion on all her ruins;
He will make her deserts like Eden,
her wastelands like the garden of the Lord.
Joy and gladness will be found in her,
thanksgiving and the sound of singing. | Isaiah 51:3
I sense the Lord’s heart of compassion towards America in this hour. I believe that He is saying that even amidst the division and chaos that this nation is currently experiencing, He is looking at us with such tenderness. The Lord is declaring that He will look with compassion on all of our ruins, bring beauty once again, and make the dry places like His garden. Take heart, and know that even amidst the great shaking we feel, God is hovering over our land—this great nation—and His mercy and favor is being extended towards us.
People of God, keep interceding! Pray for our President and for those who are in authority over us. They have been appointed by the Lord in this hour. “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God” (Romans 13:1).The Lord is strongly urging us, as the body of Christ, to come together like never before and support our authority figures in prayer and intercession … for “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).
I also sense an urgency to pray for God’s plans and purposes for America to be firmly established. When the enemy seeks to come in like a flood, the Lord will raise up a standard against him. Continue to stand firm in prayer, even if you do not have words to say. “We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).
America truly has a great destiny. Pray for God’s protection over the White House, and declare that the enemy’s plans against it will be thwarted. No weapon formed shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), for the angels of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him.
There will be even more shaking in the days to come. However, even in this time of great shaking and transition, we—as a nation and as children of the Most High—have nothing to fear. Let us continue to abide in the Lord and trust Him, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you” (Psalm 84:11-12).
While it is good to be informed and not become ignorant as to what is going in the world around us, many are continuing to set their eyes and ears on the news, reporters, and social media. As we have done this, fear and anxiety have found a way to trickle into our lives. It is important that in this hour we be alert and do not get lulled back to sleep or become distracted by those things that clamor for our attention. Refuse to be moved by what you see in the natural realm, for “faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1).
We need to make His presence our highest priority once again. God is calling us, above all, to set our eyes on Him and His Word, speaking and declaring our Father’s promises over our lives and over our country.
The Lord is reminding us that we need to guard our hearts over the spirit of offence. How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity (Psalm 133:1). He is calling us together to come back into a place of love and unity. We can have different opinions without division.
People of God: keep pressing into the Lord’s heart. Stay alert, and let hope arise. Things will settle down, and order and peace will be restored. Agree with the report of the Lord, not the negative news of this world, for the sound of singing will be heard again in America.
