Undisturbed Places of Rest

“My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” | Isaiah 32:18

As I sat quietly in the Lord’s presence, reading His Word, He began to highlight Isaiah 32:18 to my spirit. I believe that many have been in a season of prolonged turbulence, anxiety, and lack of peace. However, I sense the Lord’s heart to encourage us during this time. Even as it says in Isaiah 32:18, He wants us to be secure in knowing that we will live in peaceful dwelling places and undisturbed places of rest. As children of the living God, His peace is our portion!

The enemy has sought to come in like a flood through various circumstances in your life, as he has tried to steal your peace. Yet be encouraged, because the spirit of God is now raising up a standard against him. Listen, as the Lord is saying, “Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you” (Zechariah 9:12). Prophecy life and hope to the very areas that the enemy has sought to kill, steal and destroy, for we serve the God of restoration!

I sense that hope is rising even now, and relationships, health, and finances are going to be restored. The Father has not been blind to your tears, nor deaf to your cries. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all (Psalm 34:17-19).

Be encouraged! Much has been happening in the unseen realm. Like a seed that had seemed to be dormant underground, the Father has been tenderly cultivating you. He has been watering you and tending to your needs; He knows just how much heat and wind you are able to withstand. Much growth has been taking place, just like a germinating seed, and new life shall soon spring forth!

The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy (Isaiah 35:1-2).

Our God is the God of “suddenlies” and surprises. Just as a flower suddenly bursts into full bloom, so it shall be with you. You will arise and come forth out of the ashes, and His glory will rise on you! The Lord is restoring peace today, and He is bringing you into a place of rest.

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance (Psalm 16:5-6).
