“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”
Psalm 23:5
Recently while experiencing some adverse circumstances, I have been seeking the Lord. While spending time in His presence, I heard Him speak with such clarity. “Come, sit at my table!” Immediately Psalm 23:5 came to mind, and as I continued to press in to what He was saying, I saw a beautiful banqueting table spread out with a delicious feast!

Again, I heard the Lord say, “Sit at My table!” My situation did not instantly change, however, as I continued to spend time with the Lord and ‘sit,’ His tangible presence became so thick that I didn’t want to leave. The Lord kept ministering to Me, showing me that our human ways are not His ways.
“‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’
Isaiah 55:8-9
declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'”
Often times, when we are experiencing difficult situations, it is our human nature to try and fix things in our own strength; however, I believe the Lord is encouraging us. As written in His word, “It’s neither by our might nor power that we will be victorious, rather it’s by His spirit (Zechariah 4:6).”
The Lord is saying to His people, “stay low and keep your heart postured in humility. Continue to abide in My presence and sit at My table. Watch what I will do!”
God did bring breakthrough and work in my circumstances as I stayed in a place of rest, trusting Him and rehearsing his faithfulness!
“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
Psalm 34:8
May I encourage you today that regardless of what you are going through, the Lord is calling you to come sit at His table. He truly does prepare a feast for us, even in the presence of our enemies. As we abide under the shelter of His wing, we are favored and protected through the fiercest storms.
“The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.
Psalm 23:1-3 TPT
His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss. That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness
so that I can bring honor to his name.”
