New Wineskins

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. | John 12:24

It is easy to feel vulnerable and raw during seasons of change and transition. However, do not look at your vulnerability and your need for Me as a weakness, but rather as a strength. The stretching that you feel is not to be feared, for you are about to give birth. Yes, for I am creating a holy hunger inside of you, revealing to you that I am the One who can truly satisfy. In this season, I will show you that what used to bring you comfort will no longer satisfy.

I am inviting you to go deeper with Me; I am calling you to run straight into My loving arms. When you are feeling alone, confused, or uncertain, I am the Solid Rock – your All Sufficient One. I alone can comfort and soothe your aching heart, unlike the temporary things in life that can easily distract you from Me. I say to you, embrace the discomfort; do not try to cover up or hide your pain from Me.

I am expanding and increasing you for the new that I will pour into you, as I am creating new wineskins. (Matthew 9:17).  Remember, dear one, My hand is always at work in your life, shaping and molding you into all that I desire you to be.  Keep pursuing Me. Keep seeking after My heart, beloved, even in the seemingly dry times. I see the end from the beginning, even when you do not. My plans and purposes for your life are always good. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:9).

Even in what feels like death, I will soon give ways to new life. I have great surprises and unexpected favor right around the bend! Do not get weary in well doing, for you are about to reap a great harvest. Even with all of the unexpected twists and turns that come along with the journey, I urge you to keep pressing forward. For momentary, light affliction is producing for you an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison (2 Corinthians 4:17).
